The Artist John Bankston

John Bankston (American, b. 1963, lives and works in San Francisco) creates vibrant drawings in a style reminiscent of children’s coloring books to address issues of racial and queer identity. Bankston talks about his work on the occasion of the exhibition Figure Studies: Recent Representational Works on Paper at the Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis on view January 27 - April 22, 2012.
